INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM PROGRAM AS PART OF THE “FILMRISS” EXHIBITION
32 videos were selected from an international call for entries, which deal with the ambiguous topic in very different and extremely exciting ways and will be shown as a loop during the exhibition.
The video was filmed in two different locations: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Swansea, Wales, UK. With purposefully planned details, movements, lighting and film editing, the film is constructed as if all three characters existed in the same time and space. By throwing a list of questions which related to ‘being’, the artists answered in different languages to stage a fragmented “conversation”. The dialogue is spoken in a mixture of Welsh, Mandarin and Cantonese.
