The Rugby World Cup 2019 Japan will be held from September 20th to November 2nd in Japan, and Oita is one of the venues. ” Wales × Oita Friendship Exchange – The Art of Wales Exhibition in Oita ” will be held at Oita Prefectural Art Museum (OPAM) from 27th September to 27th October.
The exhibition aims to enhance the friendship exchange between Oita and Wales during the Rugby World Cup Japan 2019™.
Wales is known not only for a powerful rugby team, but also as the ‘King Arthur’s legend’ depicting a British medieval hero and as a stage for the novel ‘Alice in Wonderland’ written by Lewis Carroll.
Works created by 13 artists will be exhibited. Julia Brooker, an acrylic artist, who works worldwide for example in Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and so on. Chris Bird -Jones and Amber Hiscott, who work extensively on works of Glass Art and Public Art. Ten artists from Fireworks Clay Studio are exhibiting their unique ceramics.
